Amazon Web Services (AWS)
Virtualisation is the process of creating a virtual environment for your business and/or workforce to operate where traditionally it has relied on a physical setup.
AWS is a secure, managed VDI (Virtual Desktop Instance) or DaaS (Desktop as a Service) solution that allows you to provision, implement and manage Windows desktops in just a few clicks. Using the Workspace solution enables you to save money compared to utilising traditional desktops and on-premise remote desktop solutions.
AWS saves time and the headaches involved with managing traditional on-premise methods of delivery, ensuring Operating System version and security patches are delivered and managed on a single platform. Maintaining control at the core. Users receive a fast efficient desktop which also allows them the to operate from any location with an internet connection, on any device at any time.
Using a single portal allows you to manage and deliver your companies desktop to its users by using predefined images that removes the complexity that comes with traditional deployments.
Cost Reduction – Business Agility
Pay for what you need when you need it! By providing on demand “right size” resourcing AWS ensures you are delivering your desktop efficiently. Also choosing the best package for the end user removes the cost of buying expensive hardware upgrade options which is a direct bottom line saving.
By keeping your data in the Workspace environment ensures the user has access to persistent, encrypted storage volumes in the AWS Cloud. No user information or data is stored on the local machine or device thus protecting your companies data.
All management tasks and rights are stored in a single console, simplifying the ongoing management of your estate. AWS also allows you to choose your preferred region (13 in total) ensuring you deliver the solution from the region that suits your needs.
Integrate to Active Directory
AWS gives you multiple options when integrating to new or existing Active Directories with a further option of 2FA (two factor authentication). You are also able to integrate to your existing set of policies.
Once you have created your first standard virtual desktop you are then able to create an image (up to 3 business applications) of this setup and use this image to roll out all future provisions. You also have the ability to create multiple images for your different types of users. Set the standard and save the time.
